I guess I posted my original question in the wrong group

I have windows 2000 domain with exchange server 2000, all the updates
have been applied.

I am having problems sending to domain.com.

I tested a telnet session to domain.com, and I was able to send via
telnet.
In the "RCPT TO:" I added the notify to see if the email was actually
received and it went through fine.

When I try to send from outlook, it gets stuck in the queue. I also
get the same thing when I try to send to gmail emails as well.

I can send and receive to all domains fine, except send to these to
domains is a problem.

any insights would be great, thanks in advance.

Here's some more detailed descriptions

Let's call this domain; domainname.com

I can't seem to send email to this domainname.com. I can receive email

from them fine, but I can't send to them, I have to to use the SMTP
connector to my ISP to be able to send to domainname.com.

I can telnet to domainname.com and send an email from there and they
receive it fine. For some reason my Default virtual SMTP server can't
send to them, it just looks like it can't connect to domainname.com at
all. Usually when I can tell I have no problem connecting it gives the

name of the domain with a green check on a folder and says ready.

But for domainname.com it has no check and status is active. Can
anyone help me, thanks in advance.

When I restart the SMTP service then I am able to connect and send the
email to the domain.
